Keeping Safe - Parent Information
Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play in safeguarding children. Effective child protection is essential as part of wider work to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. However, all agencies and individuals should aim to proactively safeguard and promote the welfare of children so that the need for action to protect children from harm is reduced.

Rights Respecting Schools - A Right to be Safe
As part of our Rights Respecting ethos the children are taught a number of ways in which to keep themselves safe. Click on the links below for further details:
Our School Site
A major priority for us is to keep our children safe. The gates around the school are kept closed during school hours. If you need to access the school you will need to come via the Main Reception.
A vital factor is that we keep our children safe both on and off the site. An example of this is the detailed risk assessments that are carried out before any trips take place. We use a web based system called Evolve. Risk assessments are also conducted for a range of other matters. You would be very welcome to ask to see any of them.
Travel Plan
We encourage our parents and children to cycle and scoot safely to school. There are bike and scooter racks available in different areas. We have been awarded Travel Mark 2 for our work in this area.
Extremism and Radicalisation
There is no place for extremist views of any kind in our school, whether from internal sources –children, staff, visiting adults, governors etc. or external sources – school community, external agencies or individuals. Any prejudice, discrimination or extremist views, including derogatory language, displayed by children, staff, visitors or parents will always be challenged and, where appropriate, dealt with.
We encourage pupils to respect the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect, and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. We ensure that partisan political views are not promoted in the teaching of any subject in the school and where political issues are brought to the attention of the pupils, reasonably practicable steps are taken to offer a balanced presentation of opposing views to pupils.
